Consulting Project Focus Area: Environment and Sustainability
The Business Consulting program with associated experiential learning equips you to work as a practitioner in a real-world organization. In Sydney, you’ll focus on environmental concerns and sustainability, addressing issues like climate change, resource management, and renewable energy. As part of a consulting team, you’ll engage with organizations working to mitigate environmental impact and promote sustainable practices. This experience enables you to apply your knowledge of environmental management, business strategy, and communication to create impactful solutions in a region known for its commitment to environmental stewardship.
The Business Consulting project with a focus on the Environment and Sustainability allows you to gain practical experience in a field that is critical to the future of our planet. CEA CAPA Sydney Center
The CEA CAPA Sydney Center is housed on University of Technology Sydney (UTS)'s campus within the Haymarket neighborhood. The Center comprises 6 classrooms, including 3 large lecture-style classrooms, large communal space and outdoor patio, contemporary student lounge with Wi-Fi access, student computer and printing facilities, a faculty/meeting space, and administrative offices for CEA CAPA on-site student services, internship, and academic staff.
CEA CAPA courses and programs are rigorous and run in strict adherence to the Forum on Education Abroad’s Standards of Good Practice. The programs are designed to support student’s personal and professional development while exploring and analyzing urban environments abroad, through in-classroom study and out-of-classroom experiences.
CEA CAPA Sydney Center offerings include courses in wide variety of subjects including business, marketing, art, film, history, gender studies, urban studies, and more.

Courses taught at the CEA CAPA Sydney Center have been designed in conjunction with, and approved by, the University of New Haven (UNH). In addition, faculty appointments have been approved by UNH. After the successful completion of a session at the CEA CAPA Sydney Center, you will receive credit for your work from UNH. Located in Connecticut, the University of New Haven is a student-focused, comprehensive university that’s fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The agreement between CEA CAPA and UNH follows the highest standards of good practice in education abroad and satisfies the rigorous requirements of the University's institutional accreditor, making credits earned at the CEA CAPA Sydney Center easily transferable to US-accredited institutions. The required Business Consulting course is comprised of both an academic course and a locally based business consulting project that will require you to meet with clients and conduct group work outside of class. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about your assigned company through in-person or virtual meetings and by visiting their facilities/operations, conducting market research, creating relationships, ideating proposals and solutions, all of which will culminate in a consulting proposal.
In addition to your 3-credit business consulting course and project, you will choose 3-4 courses at the CEA CAPA Sydney Center from the catalog of course options available to you. This provides you with the opportunity to gain professional experience while also making progress toward your degree requirements and engaging in classes that afford a richer cultural experience. Courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. Overall, you may earn 12-15 credits.
Courses meet Monday through Thursday.
Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

Live in an apartment hotel located within convenient access to public transportation, approximately 40 minutes by bus or train commute from the Sydney Centre. Option is slightly further from the Centre, but a shorter commute by public transport. The option included cleaning service, free laundry facilities, sauna, gym and pool. You will share your room with a peer, apartments could house between 2-6 students with the majority housing 4 students. No meal plan is included however a kitchen is provided. Towels and linen are included.

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.
